The First Social Impact Managers in Italy are Born: the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation’s Strategy to Train Tomorrow’s Leaders

An incredible success with national resonance for the free Course of Advanced Training for Social Impact Managers by the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, co-organized with Randstad and the UCID Youth Movement, which concludes its first edition with the applause and enthusiasm of the countless partners who have accompanied it along the way, recognizing it as a virtuous model of free, inclusive training oriented towards social innovation – in collaboration with LUMSA University, ESG Ability Observatory of Sapienza University of Rome, European University of Rome; with the patronage of the National Office for Social Problems and Labor of the CEI, Unioncamere, Federmanager Giovani, Mercatorum University; with events sponsored by the Ministry of University and Research and by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies and by the Calabria Region. All this would not have been possible without the fundamental contribution of the Randstad Employment Agency, which has supported the development of a visionary project from day one, betting on a strategic professional figure for the country’s future. The birth of the first Social Impact Managers represents a milestone of which we are deeply proud – declares Marco Ceresa, Group CEO Randstad – This initiative, made possible by the valuable collaboration between Randstad, the Augurusa Foundation and the young entrepreneurs of UCID, aims to train leaders capable of combining managerial skills and sensitivity towards social impact.

It’s Renato Loiero – Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and President of the Board of Trustees of the Augurusa Foundation who precisely outlines the professional profile of the SIM: «The “job” of the Social Impact Manager is encompassed in six functions: defining the social impact strategy, identifying areas of intervention, implementing social projects within the organization that create value for the community, measuring and evaluating the impact with the definition of performance indicators, communicating the social impact, and lastly, collaborating with various actors, internal and external to the organization, who interact with it to maximize the social impact of activities». The Social Impact Manager thus marks a new page in the way of doing and understanding social responsibility. «It’s a figure that is becoming increasingly indispensable» emphasizes Benedetto Delle Site, National President of UCID Youth «Our companies need to integrate social impact into the structuring of their activities, looking beyond profit towards the common good». The 27 students, who since March 10 have reached Calabria to take part in the course from all Italian regions and abroad, are now ready to enter the job market for the non-profit, corporate, and Public Administration sectors as social impact professionals.
