For Antonio, Community Meant First and Foremost Family and Family is a Dynamic Feeling Capable of Expanding Well beyond the Domestic Walls and Taking Root wherever the Heart Finds Home. He Lived His Twelve Earthly Years in Service of the Common Good for His “Extended Family” of Filogaso and the Town Square and Streets Were for Him the Testing Ground for a Perspective of Care, Dedication and Responsibility towards What then Constituted His World.
A perspective that we inherit today in Augurusa Foundation by placing our skills and strengths at the service of one great Human Family.
Rooted in Antonio Was the Desire for Collective Growth, Leaving No one behind. His Community Took Shape in Sharing and Gathering with Peers, Experiencing Moments of Play and Common Passions as Opportunities for Inclusion and Mutual Enrichment without Competition. He Gave Himself to Others as a Guide and Looked to His Brothers as Teachers: Together as the Only Condition and Premise for Development.
Similarly, at the Augurusa Foundation, We Believe in a Shared Journey to Reach Everyone and each Person towards the Goal of Equitable, just, and Inclusive Development.
Antonio Considered the Community as a Broader Set of Values that Surpasses Women and Men Themselves and Extends to the Natural Realm. Plants and Animals Held the Meaning of Creation and Represented the Complexity of all Moving, No one Excluded, in the Same Direction. He Always Took Care of the Animals in His Town, both Domestic and Stray, Giving Them a Piece of Bread and Tending to Them when Injured, and Sought a Deep Connection with the Woods and Mountains Surrounding Him, Solitary and Contemplative.
