Onda Calabra Starts from Filogaso
Cycling Through the Vibonese Hinterland
Nothing makes us happier than supporting events that showcase our land, the villages, and the places where our history began. We had the latest confirmation of this on Sunday, March 22, right in our own Filogaso, which hosted the first stage of Onda Calabra: the regional circuit of non-competitive cycling tours that combines sport, nature, and discovery of the territory.
The official start for the caravan of cyclists was given by the large inflatable arch of Fondazione Augurusa, which framed the departure of over 170 participants who came from across the region. On this occasion, we wanted to be present also through the distribution of our merchandise, a small sign of participation and closeness to the cyclists and all those who took part in the event.
The route, approximately 30 kilometers long, led participants through Filogaso, San Nicola, Nicastrello, and Bosco Fallà, with 80% of the track on unpaved roads. A captivating itinerary, despite the complexities due to recent floods, featuring challenging climbs, breathtaking views, and villages with timeless charm, such as the evocative Nicastrello.
A slow and non-competitive journey to discover a Calabrian hinterland far from conventional tourist circuits, yet capable of surprising with its authentic beauty and the charm of a land waiting to be discovered.
