The European Parliament also supports the Filogaso model
From Spain to Kazakhstan, they come to Calabria to train for free as Green Social Impact Managers
An extraordinary start for the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, which in recent days has launched the second edition of the free Advanced Training course “Green Social Impact Manager” with a new training proposal, even more targeted and attentive to contemporary challenges: sustainability, climate change, social justice, energy geopolitics, and renewable energy. With the essential support of Randstad Italia, which was the first to believe in the creation of this new professional figure by also supporting the first edition, and in collaboration with APCO – Italian Professional Association of Management Consultants, FERPI – Italian Public Relations Federation, Italian Climate Network, the Augurusa Foundation deserves credit for bringing together 25 young people from all over Italy and abroad in the heart of Calabria to train for free as social impact and sustainability professionals. A completely free training and residential model that has also won the favor of the European Parliament, which has decided to morally support the initiative by sponsoring the Advanced Training course. Also providing sponsorship to the project are the Regional Council of Calabria, the Province of Vibo Valentia, the Municipality of Filogaso, and UCID – Christian Union of Entrepreneurs and Executives. “When we launched the idea of the Social Impact Manager and then the Green vertical, we knew the direction was right, but seeing such a broad response on the national and European scene fills us with pride and confirms that the intuition was not only visionary but strategic and necessary,” states Francesco Augurusa – President of the Augurusa Foundation.
Today marks the end of the first week of the course, which will continue until October 16, and the outcome could not be more positive. The young participants were welcomed in the council chamber of the Municipality of Filogaso (VV), which logistically supports the Augurusa Foundation in carrying out various initiatives in the area, with the first lessons on International Relations for Sustainable Development. Opening the second edition were Italian and international experts of the caliber of Pier Carlo Sandei – UN official for the Environment Programme (UNEP) in Kyiv, who states: “I decided to join the Faculty of the course because I believe in it, I like it. We must focus on training the new workforce and we must share opportunities, experiences, but also errors and mistakes.” Also welcoming the participants was Gianluca Ansalone – Head of Public Affairs & Sustainability at Novartis Italia, who defines the Green Social Impact Manager as “an extremely relevant figure, now increasingly integrated into business cycles and processes. It is the figure tasked with creating a solid connection between the company’s activity, its commercial and statutory purpose, and its mission, that is, the idea that the company can have a broader impact than the sector in which it operates. It is no longer an option, it is a necessity to create value well beyond the narrow circle of main stakeholders.”
The free Advanced Training course “Green Social Impact Manager” was created as a social project rooted in the territory, with the objective of building an educational community in the Foundation’s area of origin and enhancing inland areas, creating concrete opportunities for young people and new local development models. “Bringing advanced training to Filogaso is an important, courageous, difficult choice, but it is a choice that will pay off over time and is above all in line with the idea of a foundation that has territorial roots that it must not lose,” concludes Sandei. A project that promotes social cohesion and invests in territories as active spaces for training, innovation, change, and sustainable development.
