“An office in the heart of Manhattan to build new ties between U.S. philanthropy and social projects in Southern Italy. The Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, promoted by the entrepreneur from Vibo Valentia Francesco Augurusa, announces the opening of its first international office in New York, at 551 Fifth Avenue.
The office will be a meeting point for American entrepreneurs and donors interested in supporting the Foundation’s activities. At the center are education, free training, and the job placement of vulnerable youth, with a particular focus on southern territories. To collect and allocate U.S. contributions, the Foundation identifies the Augurusa Foundation American Friends Fund, managed in collaboration with Myriad USA, as the designated tool.
Three years of meetings in the United States
The New York opening comes after three years of meetings in the United States, from Boston to Chicago and Washington. During this journey, the Foundation reports, President Augurusa and Renato Loiero, coordinator of the Board of Trustees, met with the Italian Ambassador to the United States Marco Peronaci. Other contacts involved the National Italian American Foundation and the Italian consular network.
The Consul General of Italy in Boston, Arnaldo Minuti, welcomed the project to expand the Foundation’s activities, highlighting the potential contribution of the local Italian community: “Here in Boston, there is an Italian community of extraordinary human, academic, and entrepreneurial standing which, I am certain, will be able to offer an important contribution to the growth of this initiative.”
