Green Social Impact Manager: the second edition of the free advanced training course kicks off!
A new leadership for change is born in Filogaso
The second edition of the free advanced training course in Green Social Impact Manager (Green SIM), promoted by the Augurusa Foundation under the high patronage of the European Parliament, started on September 2 in the heart of the small town of Filogaso. A unique experience, held entirely in person in Filogaso (VV), involving participants from all over Italy and abroad: a living laboratory of social innovation and territorial regeneration created in collaboration with Randstad.
We are providing free accommodation at the Foundation’s facilities for the 27 selected participants. For them, 248 hours of intensive training including lectures, workshops, and project work, guided by a top-tier Faculty.
The instructors of the first Green SIM week
The protagonists of this first week were high-profile industry experts: Gianluca Ansalone – Head of Public Affairs & Sustainability at Novartis Italy, Pier Carlo Sandei – UN official for the Environment Programme (UNEP) in Kyiv, and Eleuterio Marinoni – Financial Advisor and President of UCID Veneto. The three instructors inaugurated the training program by offering a profound and articulated vision of what it means to be a Green Social Impact Manager today: a professional capable of connecting business, impact, and territory, utilizing cross-functional skills and a strong sense of social responsibility.
As expertly highlighted by Gianluca Ansalone, today the Green SIM is an absolutely essential expert on the path toward sustainability, “it is an extremely relevant figure, now increasingly integrated into company cycles and processes. Their task is to create a solid link between the company’s activities, its commercial purpose, and its mission: namely, the idea that a company can have an impact broader than the sector in which it operates.”
For Ansalone, in fact, we are facing a profound transformation, destined to permanently redefine the role of business in society: “it is no longer an option, it is a necessity. A necessity to create value far beyond the narrow circle of main stakeholders “.
Furthermore, he recognizes and values the educational significance of our Foundation’s choice to provide advanced training for free: this breaks down all economic barriers, making quality education accessible to everyone. “Providing it for free is not just a noble tool, it is the best way to enhance the elements of passion. And this is truly to the credit of the Foundation, which decided to set itself an even higher mission: advanced training is the best way to enable new generations, in particular, to be close to and aware of problems and, therefore, to decide on a strong civic commitment throughout their lives.”
A statement that opens a concrete perspective on the change taking place is found precisely in the reflection proposed by Pier Carlo Sandei. In the path developed by the Foundation, a systemic vision of the role assumed by today’s new designer of the future takes shape — a figure capable of interpreting green not only as attention to the environment, but as an expression of a broader cultural, social, and economic change — and the importance of the Green Social Impact Manager clearly emerges, according to Sandei: “The Green Social Impact Manager is a key figure in the change, evolution, and green growth of a country – whether it be Italy or other foreign countries. Today, green permeates everything: it is culture, it is economy, it is society “.
He also highlights the profound significance of choosing to hold the course in a small town in the Calabrian hinterland: “Bringing advanced training to Filogaso is an important, courageous, and difficult choice, but it is a choice that will pay off over time. It is perfectly consistent with the mission of a Foundation that has solid local roots and must not lose them.”
Within the framework of an increasingly urgent and tangible change, the reflection of Eleuterio Marinoni is highly relevant, bringing a clear and current vision of the role that new professional figures must assume to promptly face the challenges of tomorrow. And it is precisely in the Green Social Impact Manager that this design approach is realized, capable of immediately combining action and long-term planning.
This figure moves with awareness, looking to the future and working in the present. As Marinoni himself emphasizes: “it is a figure that looks to the future and implements a series of actions for the development of the environment and the community,” thus embodying a professionalism that combines responsibility and skills, generating a real impact.”
We sincerely thank these professionals who were the first to expertly inaugurate the start of a journey that will continue until October 17.
The first experiences of the Green SIM students
The first week of our journey began with energy and participation for our students as well! The young men and women immediately immersed themselves in the activities and offerings of the Calabrian territory, creating an atmosphere of sharing and friendship.
Some of them chose to live a spiritual experience together with the community, participating in the pilgrimage to Torre Ruggiero which took place on the night of September 5. The walk, which starts every year from Filogaso, was an opportunity for them for reflection and sharing outside the academic classroom, drawing its richness from its meditative and introspective nature. There was no shortage of celebratory moments: two birthdays have already been celebrated, those of Caterina and Valentina, two students whom we celebrated with enthusiasm and affection.
A small taste of the group spirit that is already emerging and that promises much for the weeks to come!
