Filogaso Becomes a University Campus
A Free Advanced Training Course with Important Academic Collaborations,
Scholarships and Internships to Train Future Social Impact Professionals
The Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation launches its first Advanced Training Course
“Social Impact Manager”. An excellence program free for participants, which
features as partners LUMSA University, Mercatorum University, ESG Observatory
Ability of Sapienza University of Rome, European University of Rome, University
Magna Graecia of Catanzaro, the Department of Law of the University of Pisa,
Randstad, Weevo Benefit Corporation, APCO, Federmanager Giovani and other
highly important academic and business entities that will take part in the educational
program involving top-profile professors. We are enthusiastic about taking up the Foundation’s
challenge to invest in Filogaso in the province of Vibo Valentia, its town of origin, for
training Italy’s first Social Impact Managers.
Jointly promoted with the Christian Union of Entrepreneurs and Managers (UCID), the
Course will begin on March 10 with 24 available spots – including 2 reserved for students
from abroad – and is aimed at young people who want to train as social impact professionals,
ready to support Third Sector organizations, businesses, and Public Administration in designing,
implementing and monitoring initiatives for sustainable development and digital
transition.
The training will be integrated and interdisciplinary, ranging from Project Management to
Monitoring, from Sustainable Finance to Social Impact Communication, including
Fundraising, Impact Marketing, and Stakeholder engagement. These are just some of
the main tools that will enable students to be versatile and competitive in the
job market. As emphasized by Benedetto Delle Site, National President of UCID Youth Movement,
«The Social Impact Manager will be a crucial professional figure in the future, called to combine social value creation and economic value: companies
will increasingly need to measure their activities from an integral sustainability perspective, and
public decision-makers will need to interact more with various private and social
entities in the spirit of shared governance responsibility».

Maria Makarova, Head of the Project Office at the Augurusa Foundation,
clearly explains the need to bring a wide audience closer to the importance of this new
professional figure: “We consider it fundamental to raise awareness among as many people as possible
about the urgency of having social impact professionals serving our territories. For
this reason, we try to guarantee anyone who wants to take up this challenge the opportunity to
do so.” Non-local participants will receive a scholarship covering all
accommodation expenses and the best students at the end of the course will be offered an
internship at the Augurusa Foundation.
In the Foundation’s vision, the Social Impact Manager is a facilitator and driver of
social change. A cross-functional figure who works on creating and spreading a
shared culture, both in the public and business sectors, on the themes of
Sustainability, Social Responsibility, Civil Economy, Generative
Restitution, and Social Justice, ensuring that the operational application of these
themes is not perceived by organizations as mere compliance with regulatory obligations but as
an integral part of the development processes of businesses, territories, and communities.
“I am pleased to contribute to a study program that aims to
train young people capable of taking on decision-making roles in administrations and companies
and able to bring about change by promoting policies that facilitate social development
paths,” states Laura Michelini, professor at LUMSA University.
The objective of this first edition of the Advanced Training Course, “Is to provide all
participants with a portfolio of skills that can be used in all those organizations that in the coming
years will be called upon to manage the impact of their actions, ensuring it is fair,
just and sustainable – concludes Francesco Augurusa, President of the Foundation – We need
a new social pact drawn up jointly between public organizations, private entities and
citizens to generate value shared by the community, and we hope this can
be guided by future Social Impact Managers.” Applications for the Training Course
will be open until Friday, March 7, just send an email to
