The Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, in Collaboration with Adecco to Train the most Sought-After Profiles for Industry 4.0

The Classrooms within the “Integral Human Development Training Center” at Lameziaeuropa S.P.A. Will Soon be Inaugurated

On Monday, May 30, the new headquarters of the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation will be inaugurated at the “Integral Human Development Training Center”. On the same date, training courses for the “Virtus Lab” project, promoted in collaboration with Adecco, will begin. The course participants come from all over Italy, particularly from Puglia, Campania, Calabria, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna, and Sardinia. The center’s name draws inspiration from the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, established by the Holy Father in 2016. The Foundation, connected to the territory of Filogaso (VV), the hometown of young Antonio Emanuele, is committed to promoting education and social inclusion activities. Established in 2020, it commemorates this twelve-year-old boy of extraordinary solidarity and altruistic sensitivity, whose life was cut short in 1998 on a soccer field in the Calabrian outskirts. From this tragedy, the Foundation’s two directives emerged: education and social inclusion, from the perspective of humanitarian cooperation, whose mission is summarized in the expression “Charitas omnia vincit”. Currently, youth unemployment in Calabria approaches 50%, an alarming figure. The Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, in synergy with Adecco, a worldwide leading employment agency, combats unemployment and promotes integral human development.

“Virtus Lab” therefore offers two highly qualifying training courses, free of charge (including coverage of food and accommodation expenses), with no age limits, origin restrictions, or educational requirements.
Specifically, there is a CNC operator course – lasting 200 hours total – and a mechanical assembly technician course – lasting 160 hours total.
The first aims to develop machine programming skills, with CAD – CAM fundamentals.
The second aims to introduce students to the basic concepts necessary to apply correct assembly procedures for mechanical parts and non-complex elements, based on technical reference documentation.
The training will initially be theoretical and will take place in Lamezia Terme at the Foundation’s headquarters: “Integral Human Development Training Center” established at the business services center of Lameziaeuropa S.p.a.
The students will be guided and supported by a highly specialized teaching staff in the industrial engineering sector. In addition to the educational training activities, the A.
E. Augurusa Foundation provides: coaching, social activities, cultural events, sports, and recreational activities.
Following the initial basic theoretical lessons, practical training will begin in Emilia-Romagna, in the industrial areas known as Motor Valley.
It’s important to emphasize that the industrial sector with the highest demand for employees is indeed mechanical: the metallurgy and metalworking industry in Emilia-Romagna recorded the largest increase in production in the past year (+14.8 percent), confirming itself as an exponentially growing sector, thus continuously seeking trained and qualified personnel.
The Foundation also takes care to manage the process of integration and socio-occupational and housing inclusion in the destination territory for future workers through a structured handbook available and offered to each course candidate.
