Trans-Forming Human Capital to Unlock the Country's Potential
On the occasion of the conference “Trans-Forming Human Capital to Unlock the Country’s Potential”, held on 15 October 2023, we brought together entrepreneurs, representatives of public institutions, the Church, trade unions, and the Third Sector at the Church of San Benedetto in Lamezia Terme to undertake an unprecedented commitment of historic significance: the signing of the Pact for Decent Work and Sustainable Development. This landmark document translates dialogue among diverse social stakeholders into concrete actions to promote more decent, inclusive, and sustainability-oriented work.
The signing of the Pact marked the culmination of the conference, organised by our Foundation together with the Christian Union of Entrepreneurs and Managers (UCID), to address the themes of decent work, sustainable development, and the mismatch between labour supply and demand. Held under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the Calabria Region, and the European Parliament, the event brought together ministers, government representatives, members of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, business leaders, and academics, reaffirming the value of dialogue in building meaningful partnerships and delivering tangible outcomes for the future of our country.
"Today, a great cross-sector and inclusive alliance is born: a small miracle, a collaborative effort capable of restoring quality of life to people [...] while at the same time enhancing productivity and competitiveness for businesses and offering young people new opportunities, starting with education and the dignity of individuals and communities."
