On the road against addiction
V.I.A. Volunteers In Action: on the road against addiction is a national traveling project funded by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, which is being developed in 20 regions of Italy with the aim of involving boys and girls from Secondary Schools and young people up to 29 years of age in activities that inform, raise awareness and promote the prevention of drug addiction and the development of a culture of volunteerism.
At the heart of the project:
- A National Truck Tour to be present in major squares throughout Italy.
- Activities in schools and educational and awareness-raising meetings.
- National cognitive survey on the three macro-areas covered in the activities: alcohol use and abuse, drugs, volunteering.
Augurusa Foundation is the chosen partner for the Calabria region. We are in charge of structuring educational pathways for 16- to 19-year-olds in Secondary Schools in Calabria to educate on the prevention of alcohol and substance abuse, the culture of volunteerism and the adoption of healthy lifestyles. We organize educational and awareness meetings for young people up to 29 years old n Youth Aggregation Centers (CAG). We carry out with the support of the National Truck Tour territorial awareness events and promotion of the initiative in the squares and public places of Calabria in order to carry out territorial animation and raise community awareness of the risks of addiction.
