Augurusa Foundation and CISP: An Alliance for Peace
The Augurusa Foundation takes a new strategic step in its cultural and social mission by forging an important partnership with the CISP – Interdisciplinary Center for Peace Sciences at the University of Pisa. The agreement, officially signed and operational from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, marks the launch of a shared research activity on the theme of “Interfaith Dialogue and Peacebuilding. Impacts and Applications for Sustainable Development ”, with a strong legal focus and an international scope.
The collaboration, which falls within the Scientific-Disciplinary Sector GIUR-07/A, aims to investigate the role of interreligious dialogue in building peace and promoting sustainable, ethical, and responsible development models. This is an ambitious project that aligns consistently with the Foundation’s vision, which has always been attentive to the enhancement of cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue.
Under the scientific guidance of professors Pierluigi Consorti and Luigi Mariano Guzzo from the University of Pisa, and with the operational coordination of our President Francesco Augurusa for the Foundation, the new project involves structured and in-depth work.
Giving ideal and value-based substance to this journey is the concept of the “House of Peace,” which holds a central place in the Foundation’s vision and is rooted in the cultural and moral legacy of Antonio Emanuele Augurusa. Antonio imagined the House of Peace as a space where every person could feel like an active part of a supportive community, a co-builder of relationships, meanings, and a common future. For him, the house was not just a shelter, but a living symbol of communion, responsibility, and welcome: a place capable of transforming social reality from a source of deprivation into a space of possibility, restoring to everyone the dignity of being able to contribute to change.
It is precisely from this vision that one of the Foundation’s methodological pillars takes shape: generative restitution. Understood as a design and cultural approach, it promotes a model in which every intervention produces widespread and lasting value by involving communities and territories in transformation processes. Each subject is called upon to give back – according to their own strategic, economic, and relational capacities – so that the invested resources are not exhausted but multiplied, generating new planning, social capital, and shared impacts.
In this context, the alliance between the Interdisciplinary Center for Peace Sciences and the Augurusa Foundation intends to define a methodological framework aimed at identifying, developing, and evaluating the skills necessary for those working in the prevention, management, and transformation of conflicts. This framework is particularly addressed to actors from institutions, public administration, NGOs, and third-sector entities, supporting them in effectively conducting activities dedicated to the promotion of peace.
The agreement established with the CISP therefore represents a concrete commitment: it fuels knowledge, fosters the encounter between different cultures and faiths, and generates tools capable of truly impacting the construction of a more equitable and inclusive future. The Augurusa Foundation thus reaffirms its role as a cultural and social leader, transforming research into concrete action, the territory into a living center of experimentation, and the global vision into real trajectories of change.
